किमर्थम् तव नेत्राभ्यां वारि स्रवति शोकजम्।पुण्डरीकपलाशाभ्यां विप्रकीर्णमिवोदकम्।।।।
kimarthaṃ tava netrābhyāṃ vāri sravati śokajam | puṇḍarīkapalāśābhyāṃ viprakīrṇam ivodakam ||
ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਪੁੰਡਰੀਕ-ਪਲਾਸ਼ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੋਕ-ਜਨਿਤ ਅੰਸੂ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ? ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਕਮਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਖੁੜੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਛਿਟਕ ਕੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਟਪਕਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
