Kaikeyi’s Demand and the Noose of the King’s Promise
यथा नन्दति तेजस्वी सागरो भास्करोदये।।।।प्रीतः प्रीतेन मनसा तथाऽनन्दघन स्स्वतः।
yathā nandati tejasvī sāgaro bhāskarodaye |
prītaḥ prītena manasā tathā ānandaghanaḥ svataḥ ||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਜਸਵੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੂਰਜ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੀ ਖਿੜ ਉਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਆਨੰਦ-ਘਨ ਸੁਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਹರ್ಷਿਤ ਹੋਇਆ।
Just as the mighty ocean rejoices at sunrise, the inherently cheerful Sumantra became delighted to see the king.
