अनसूयोपदेशः तथा सीताया स्वयंवरकथा
Anasuya’s Counsel and Sita’s Swayamvara Narrative
एवमुक्ता तु सा सीता तां ततो धर्मचारिणीम्।श्रूयतामिति चोक्त्वा वै कथयामास तां कथाम्।।2.118.26।।
evam uktā tu sā sītā tāṃ tato dharmacāriṇīm | śrūyatām iti coktvā vai kathayāmāsa tāṃ kathām ||2.118.26||
ਇਉਂ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਧਰਮਚਾਰিণੀ ਸੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਤੀ ਨੂੰ “ਸੁਣੋ” ਕਹਿ ਕੇ, ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ।
'Listen' said Sita, thus addressed, and began relating the story to Anasuya, a performer of austerities.
Dharma is upheld through truthful, respectful communication: Sītā responds obediently to a sage-woman’s request and prepares to narrate faithfully.
Sītā accepts Anasūyā’s request and begins telling the background of her life and marriage.
