It highlights that devotion (bhakti) can be sustained across multiple lifetimes, and that the compassion of sages can inspire or enable such a spiritual orientation.
The verse mentions holy ṛṣis (sages) who show compassion, and devas (gods) who are the recipients of devotion.
Cultivating compassion (kṛpā) supports others’ spiritual growth, and steady devotion is presented as a long-term commitment that can extend beyond a single lifetime.
