Not explicitly identifiable from the single verse (context required; likely third-person narration within the Bhīṣma–Pulastya dialogue frame).

Concept: Karmic momentum: the ‘puṇya-karman’ person’s departure sets in motion consequences that test fidelity, patience, and dharmic response.

Application: Notice how small decisions (leaving with a group, timing, secrecy) create moral situations; respond with steadiness rather than panic.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

Kṛkala appears as a named character described as mahābhāga (noble/fortunate) and puṇya-karman (one whose deeds are meritorious). The broader story context from surrounding verses is needed to identify him precisely.

Sasārthena means “with the sārtha,” i.e., a caravan or merchant-train, indicating travel in a group for trade or pilgrimage and often setting up subsequent events in the story.

It highlights the Purāṇic emphasis that a person’s worth is grounded in righteous, merit-producing conduct (puṇya), and that such virtue frames how the narrative presents their actions and fate.
