Adhyaya 83 — The Slaying of Mahishasura’s Armies and the Final Death of Mahishasura
देव्युवाच गरज गरज क्षणं मूढ मधु यावत्पिबाम्यहम् ।
मया त्वयि हतेऽत्रैव गर्जिष्यन्त्याशु देवताः ॥
devyuvāca garja garja kṣaṇaṃ mūḍha madhu yāvat pibāmy aham / mayā tvayi hate 'traiva garjiṣyanty āśu devatāḥ
ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ— “ਗੱਜ, ਗੱਜ ਕੁਝ ਪਲ, ਮੂਰਖ! ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਮਧੁ ਪੀ ਲਵਾਂ। ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ, ਦੇਵਤੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਜੈ-ਗੱਜਣਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ।”
