मार्कण्डेय उवाच ततः स राजा तं विप्रमाहास्मिन् कीदृशी क्रिया ।
तन्मूकतापनॊदाय स च तं प्राह पार्थिवम् ॥
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca tataḥ sa rājā taṃ vipram āhāsmin kīdṛśī kriyā | tanmūkatāpanodāya sa ca taṃ prāha pārthivam ||
ਮਾਰਕੰਡੇਯ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਇਸ ਗੂੰਗਾਪਣ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਮ-ਵਿਧਾਨ ਹੈ?” ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
