Adhyaya 40 — The Yogin’s Impediments (Upasargas), Subtle Concentrations, and the Eight Siddhis

भूतवर्गादवाप्नोति शब्दाद्यैः ह्रियते न च ।

न चास्य सन्ति शब्दाद्यास्तद्भोक्ता तैर् न युज्यते ॥

Transliteration

bhūtavargād avāpnoti śabdādyaiḥ hriyate na ca / na cāsya santi śabdādyās tadbhoktā tair na yujyate

Translation

ਉਹ ਭੂਤ-ਵਰਗ (ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ/ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਛੀਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਦਿ ਹਨ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ; ਅਤੇ ਉਸ (ਅਵਸਥਾ) ਦਾ ਅਨੁਭੋਗਤਾ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
