Adhyaya 39 — Yoga Discipline: Posture, Breath Control, Sense Withdrawal, and Signs of Attainment
jitāṃ jitāṃ śanair bhūmim ārohet yathā gṛham / doṣān vyādhīṃs tathā moham ākrāntā bhūr anirjitā //

Spiritual practice is portrayed as methodical craftsmanship: mastery must precede progression. Skipping foundations invites imbalance—manifesting as bodily illness, mental agitation, and delusion.
A practical-dharma/yoga counsel section; it is not sarga/pratisarga etc., but supports the Purāṇic aim of guiding conduct toward liberation.
Each ‘bhūmi’ can be read as a stabilization of prāṇa and mind; if a layer of saṃskāra is not resolved, it resurfaces as ‘doṣa-vyādhi-moha’ when higher energies are stirred.
