सा पृष्टा तेन तन्वङ्गी प्रस्थिताऽ केन कस्य वा ।
नोवाच किञ्चित् प्रासादमारुरोह च भामिनी ॥
sā pṛṣṭā tena tanvaṅgī prasthitā kena kasya vā / novāca kiñcit prāsādamāruroha ca bhāminī
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ—‘ਤੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਿਕਲੀ ਹੈਂ?’—ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸੁਕਮਲ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਬੋਲੀ; ਉਹ ਗੌਰ ਵਰਣ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ।
