The Dialogue of Śalmali and Pavana
बशभ्राम तस्मिन् विजने नानामृगसमाकुले । ततो द्रुमाणां महता पवनेन वने तदा
babhāma tasmin vijane nānā-mṛga-samākule | tato drumāṇāṃ mahatā pavanena vane tadā dadāha pāvakaḥ kruddho yugāntāgni-samaprabhaḥ |
ਨਾਨਾ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਉਸ ਸੁੰਨਸਾਨ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਘਬਰਾਹਟ ਨਾਲ ਇਧਰ-ਉਧਰ ਭਟਕਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਝੋਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਰੱਖ਼ਤ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਿਸੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਅੱਗ ਭੜਕ ਉਠੀ। ਯੁਗਾਂਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਹਾਰਕ ਅੱਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਜਗਮਗਾਉਂਦਾ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਅਗਨਿਦੇਵ ਲਤਾਵਾਂ, ਟਾਹਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਰੱਖ਼ਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਉਸ ਜੰਗਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੇਕਾਬੂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਭੜਕਣ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਨਿਗਲ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ; ਅਤੇ ਬੇਧਿਆਨੀ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
