अभ्यषिज्चन् कुमार वै सम्प्रहृषषशट दिवौकस: । सेनापतिं महात्मानमसुराणां भयंकरम्
vaiśampāyana uvāca | abhyasiñcan kumāraṃ vai samprahṛṣṭā divaukasaḥ | senāpatiṃ mahātmānam asurāṇāṃ bhayaṅkaram | rudrair vasubhir ādityair aśvibhyāṃ ca vṛtaḥ prabhuḥ |
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਦਿਵ੍ਯ ਯੁਵਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਕਾਰ্তਿਕੇਯ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਸ਼ੇਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮਹਾਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵ-ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ—ਜੋ ਅਸੁਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਭਯੰਕਰ ਸੀ। ਰੁਦ੍ਰਾਂ, ਵਸੂਆਂ, ਆਦਿਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਉਹ ਤੇਜਸਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਿਪਤ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਖੜਾ ਸੀ; ਦੈਤ੍ਯ-ਬਲ ਦੇ ਦਮਨ ਲਈ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਿਤ੍ਵ-ਪਦ ਤੇ ਅਭਿਸ਼ਿਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
