अश्वत्थाम-शापः, परिक्षिद्भविष्यत्, मणि-न्यासः
Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution
विचरिष्यसि पापात्मन् सर्वव्याधिसमन्वित: । ओ नीच! तू जनसमुदायमें नहीं ठहर सकेगा। तेरे शरीरसे पीव और लोहूकी दुर्गन््ध निकलती रहेगी; अतः तुझे दुर्गम स्थानोंका ही आश्रय लेना पड़ेगा। पापात्मन्! तू सभी रोगोंसे पीड़ित होकर इधर-उधर भटकेगा
vicarīṣyasi pāpātman sarvavyādhisamanvitaḥ |
ਹੇ ਪਾਪਾਤਮਾ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਇੱਧਰ-ਉੱਧਰ ਭਟਕੇਂਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ; ਤੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪੀਪ ਅਤੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਬਦਬੂ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਕਲਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਵਾਰ ਤੇ ਸੁੰਨੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
