यद्येतत् त्वं प्रतिश्रुत्य न करोषि वच: शुभम् | सकल वृष्णिशार्दूल मृतां मामवधारय
yady etat tvaṁ pratiśrutya na karoṣi vacaḥ śubham | sakala-vṛṣṇi-śārdūla mṛtāṁ mām avadhāraya ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— “ਹੇ ਵ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੇਰ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਗਿਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੰਗਲਮਈ ਬਚਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਜਾਣ—ਮੈਂ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਪ੍ਰਾਇ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ; ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ।”
