Sukta 89
आराच्छत्रुमप बाधस्व दूरमुग्रो यः शम्बः पुरुहूत तेन । अस्मे धेहि यवमद् गोमदिन्द्र कृधी धियं जरित्रे वाजरत्नाम्
ārā́c chatrúm ápa bādhasva dūrám ugró yáḥ śámbhaḥ puruhūta téna | asmè dhehi yáva-mad gó-mad indra kṛdhí dhíyaṃ jaritré vā́ja-ratnām ||
From far away thrust off the enemy—drive him afar—O fierce yet gracious, Much-invoked: with that same might. Bestow on us, O Indra, barley-rich and cattle-rich abundance; and make for the singer thought that hath prize and treasure.
ਦੂਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਤਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾ ਦੇ—ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ ਦਬਾ ਦੇ—ਹੇ ਉਗ੍ਰ ਪਰ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਰ (ਸ਼ੰਭ), ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਪੁਰੁਹੂਤ)! ਉਸੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ। ਹੇ ਇੰਦਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੌ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੋ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼; ਅਤੇ ਗਾਇਕ/ਸਤੁਤਿਕਾਰ ਲਈ ਵਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਰਤਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਧੀ (ਬੁੱਧੀ) ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
