Sukta 85

वि तर्तूर्यन्ते मघवन् विपश्चितोऽर्यो विपो जनानाम्। उप क्रमस्व पुरुरूपमा भर वाजं नेदिष्ठमूतये

ví tártūryante maghavan vipaścíto ’áryo vípo jánānām | úpa krámasva pururū́pam ā́ bhara vā́jaṃ nédiṣṭham ūtáye |

Forth press the wise and far-discerning, O Bounteous; the noble, the inspired of the peoples. Step hither; bring, in thy many-formed might, the prize most near at hand, for our succour.

ਹੇ ਮਘਵਨ (ਉਦਾਰ ਦਾਤਾ), ਵਿਪਸ਼ਚਿਤੋ—ਜਾਣਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ—ਆਰਯ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਵੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਦਮ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ; ਆਪਣੀ ਬਹੁ-ਰੂਪ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੀ ਊਤਯੇ (ਸਹਾਇਤਾ) ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜਲਾ ਵਾਜ (ਵਿਜੈ-ਇਨਾਮ/ਬਲ) ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਦੇ।
