Sukta 4
स्वमेतदच्छायन्ति यद् वशां ब्राह्मणा अभि। यथैनानन्यस्मिन् जिनीयादेवास्या निरोधनम्
svám etád ácchāyanti yád vaśā́ṃ brāhmaṇā́ abhí | yáthainām anyásmin ná jinīyā́d evā́syā nirodhánam
They guard this as their own, in that the Brahmans have power over the Vaśā; so that none may win her away unto another—this, verily, is her restraint.
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵਸ਼ਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ; ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇ—ਇਹੀ, ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਹੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਰੋਧਨ (ਬੰਧਨ/ਰੋਕ) ਹੈ।
