Sukta 3

उद्योधन्त्यभि वल्गन्ति तप्ताः फेनमस्यन्ति बहुलांश्च बिन्दून्। योषेव दृष्ट्वा पतिमृत्वियायैतैस्तण्डुलैर्भवता समापः

úd yódhanty abhí valganti taptā́ḥ phénam asyanti bahulā́ṃś ca bindū́n | yóṣeva dṛṣṭvā́ pátim ṛ́tviyāya etáis taṇḍuláir bhavatā sám ā́paḥ ||

Upward they strive and leap when heated; they cast forth foam and many a drop besides. As a wife, on seeing her lord, for the fit season—so, Waters, with these rice-grains be ye in full accord.

ਤਪੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਉੱਪਰ ਵੱਲ ਧੱਕਦੇ ਤੇ ਛਾਲਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਝੱਗ ਸੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਵੀ ਛਿੜਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਢੁੱਕਵੇਂ ਰਿਤੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਤਨੀ—ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਹੇ ਆਪಃ (ਜਲੋ), ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੰਡੁਲ (ਚੌਲ ਦੇ ਦਾਣਿਆਂ) ਨਾਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਰਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਵੋ।
