Ayurvedic viṣa-cikitsā: an oral antidotal formulation—taṇḍulīya root taken with ghee, in a dose measured as “equal to trivṛt,” for rapidly countering dog-related poisoning.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning beyond mythology by preserving practical medical toxicology—specific drugs, vehicles (ghee), and dosage conventions—alongside its many other disciplines.
By framing healing knowledge within a Purāṇic teaching, the text treats protection of life and relief from suffering as dharmic conduct; applying such remedies supports preservation of prāṇa (life-breath) and compassionate duty.
