FAQs

It gives a practical Ayurvedic instruction: a preparation, when processed (siddha) with a valā (Bala) paste-decoction, is recommended for abhyanga (therapeutic oiling/massage) and is credited with improving intellect.

Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied sciences—here, a concrete Ayurvedic processing method (kalka + kaṣāya + siddha) and its clinical use in massage therapy—showing its wide-ranging, handbook-like scope.

By framing health practices as dharmic, the text treats bodily care—strengthening the mind (buddhi) and sustaining vitality through proper abhyanga—as supportive of disciplined living, study, and ritual performance.
