FAQs

It gives a practical Ayurvedic formulation: mix mineral clay, sandalwood, lac, and jasmine buds and prepare a medicated varti (wick/roll) used therapeutically to alleviate wound/ulcer-type conditions (kṣata) and reproductive-fluid disorders (śukra-doṣa).

Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied sciences—here, pharmacological compounding and dosage-form technology (varti), showing how Purāṇic literature also functions as a handbook of traditional medicine.

By promoting healing and preservation of vitality (including reproductive strength), the instruction supports dharma through health; caring for the body as a means for righteous living is treated as a meritorious, purifying aim in Purāṇic ethics.
