Ayurvedic pathya (therapeutic diet): recommending light, cooling, and supportive foods—aged grains with yūṣa (soups) and a sugar-honey drink with raisins and pomegranate—for managing visarpa.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond mythology by preserving applied medical guidance (Ayurveda), including specific dietary formulations for named diseases.
By prescribing sāttvika, regulated intake and avoidance of aggravating foods, the verse frames bodily healing as disciplined living (niyama), supporting purity and steadiness conducive to dharmic practice.
