Concept: Buddhi is stabilized by an underlying mandalic order; lotus-petal enumerations encode levels/powers within a tradition’s subtle anatomy and contemplative mapping.

Application: In dhyāna/nyāsa, visualize the buddhy-ādhāra lotus with the stated petal-count as a cognitive stabilizer; use the 13-fold division as a checklist for completing the mandala’s remaining sectors before invocation.

FAQs

It gives a technical enumeration used in tantric-yogic mapping: a thirteenfold remainder/division, and the identification of a buddhi-supporting maṇḍala/lotus whose petal-count is specified (100 plus 60).

Beyond myth and devotion, it preserves specialized tantric vocabulary (maṇḍala, padma, petal-counts, buddhi-ādhāra) and records variant doctrinal systems (“Hara and others”), showing the text’s compendious cataloging of technical traditions.

By locating buddhi (discriminative intelligence) in its prescribed support (ādhāra) and aligning practice with an authorized maṇḍala/lotus schema, the practitioner is guided toward mental purification, steadiness in meditation, and correct inner worship (antar-yāga).
