Related Themes: Agni Purana 306 (Vaiṣṇava dhyāna and mūrti-lakṣaṇa passages)
It gives a dhyāna-lakṣaṇa (iconographic meditation formula): Lakṣmī’s posture (on Viṣṇu’s left thigh/shank), her gesture of embracing, and her attributes (lotus and cāmara), alongside Viṣṇu’s identifying emblems (Śrīvatsa and Kaustubha) used in pūjā and visualization.
Beyond mythology, the Agni Purana preserves practical temple and worship knowledge—murti-lakṣaṇa and dhyāna descriptions that function like a manual for correct visualization, icon-making cues, and devotional practice within Vaiṣṇava ritual systems.
Correct dhyāna on the divine form is treated as a purifier of mind and a support for focused devotion (bhakti); meditating on Viṣṇu with Śrī signifies auspiciousness, protection, and the stabilization of prosperity aligned with dharma.
