Chapter 303: Mantras for Worship Beginning with the Five-syllable (Pañcākṣara) —
tārakādi samabhyarcya devatvādi samāpnuyāt jñānātmakaṃ paraṃ brahma paraṃ buddhiḥ śivo hṛdi
Lord Agni (in discourse to sage Vasiṣṭha, typical Agni Purana frame)

Concept: Brahman is jñāna-svarūpa; Śiva is para-buddhi residing in the heart—linking ritual worship to non-dual interior cognition.
Application: During japa/arcana, add contemplative bhāvanā: ‘Śiva as the witnessing intelligence in my heart’; balance siddhi-seeking with self-knowledge.

It teaches Tārakādi-arcana (worship of Tāraka and allied deities/manifestations) as an upāsanā that yields devatva (divine status/qualities) and culminates in jñāna-oriented insight into Brahman and Śiva within.
It combines practical ritual instruction (specific worship/arcana leading to defined results) with metaphysical doctrine (Brahman as knowledge; Śiva as the highest inner intellect), showcasing the text’s breadth from liturgy to philosophy.
The karmic fruit is elevation through worship (devatva and allied attainments), while the spiritual culmination is inner realization: the heart-centered recognition of Śiva/Brahman as the consciousness-intellect principle.
