ॐ नमो भगवते रुद्राय प्रेताधिपतये गुत्त्व गर्ज भ्रामय मुञ्च मुह्य कट आविश सुवर्णपतङ्ग रुद्रो ज्ञापयति ठ पातालक्षोभमन्त्रोयं मन्त्रणाद्विषनाशनः दंशकाहिदंशे सद्यो दष्टः काष्ठशिलादिना
oṃ namo bhagavate rudrāya pretādhipataye guttva garja bhrāmaya muñca muhya kaṭa āviśa suvarṇapataṅga rudro jñāpayati ṭha pātālakṣobhamantroyaṃ mantraṇādviṣanāśanaḥ daṃśakāhidaṃśe sadyo daṣṭaḥ kāṣṭhaśilādinā
ਓਂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰੇਤ-ਗਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ। “ਬੰਨ੍ਹੋ/ਫੜੋ, ਗਰਜੋ, ਘੁਮਾਓ, ਛੱਡੋ, ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰੋ, ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰੋ, ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰੋ; ਹੇ ਸੁਵਰਨ-ਪਤੰਗ!”—ਇਉਂ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਆਗਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ‘ਪਾਤਾਲ-ਖ਼ੋਭ’ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਦੇ ਜਪ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸ਼ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਡੰਕ ਜਾਂ ਸੱਪ ਦੇ ਡੱਸਣ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਚਾਨਕ ਡੱਸੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਲੱਕੜ-ਪੱਥਰ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਸਪਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਏ ਦੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ, ਤੁਰੰਤ ਵਿਸ਼-ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
