इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे नागलक्षणदिर्नाम त्रिनवत्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः अथ चतुर्नवत्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः दष्टचिकित्सा अग्निर् उवाच मन्त्रध्यानौषधैर् दष्टचिकित्सां प्रवदामि ते ॐ नमो भगवते नीलकण्ठायेति जपनाद्विषहानिः स्यदौषधं जीवरक्षणं

ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe nāgalakṣaṇadirnāma trinavatyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha caturnavatyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ daṣṭacikitsā agnir uvāca mantradhyānauṣadhair daṣṭacikitsāṃ pravadāmi te oṃ namo bhagavate nīlakaṇṭhāyeti japanādviṣahāniḥ syadauṣadhaṃ jīvarakṣaṇaṃ

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਆਗਨੇਯ ਮਹਾਪੁਰਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਨਾਗਲક્ષણ-ਨਿਰਣਯ’ ਨਾਮਕ ੨੯੪ਵਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ। ਹੁਣ ੨੯੫ਵਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਇ ‘ਦਸ਼ਟਚਿਕਿਤਸਾ’ ਆਰੰਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਗਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਮੰਤ੍ਰ, ਧਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਔਖਧੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਦੇ ਡੰਗ ਦੀ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਾ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ‘ਓਂ ਨਮੋ ਭਗਵਤੇ ਨੀਲਕੰਠਾਯ’ ਜਪ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਘਟਦਾ ਹੈ; ਇਹ ਜੀਵ-ਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੈ।
