Related Themes: Agni Purana sections on sneha-pāka and upakrama (nasya/karṇa procedures in broader chikitsā context)
Ayurvedic chikitsā: it prescribes karṇa-pūraṇa/ear-drop therapy using medicated oil cooked with mañjiṣṭhā, hiṅgu, and saindhava, or alternatively garlic-infused oil, for treating earache.
It shows the text’s practical medical scope: alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied Ayurvedic formulations (drug selection and dosage-form—medicated oil) for specific diseases like ear pain.
While primarily therapeutic rather than ritual, it reflects the Purāṇic ideal of dharma through health-preservation—supporting the body as an instrument for worship, study, and righteous living.
