अवर्णनं नाम अष्टत्रिंशोध्यायः कृष्णाश्रये गता इति ख, घ, ङ, चिह्नितपुस्तकत्रयपाठः प्रतिष्ठाद्यमिति ख, ङ, चिह्नितपुस्तकद्वयपाठः अथोनचत्वारिंशो ऽध्यायः भूपरिग्रहविधानं हयग्रीव उवाच विष्ण्वादीनां प्रतिष्ठादि वक्ष्ये ब्रह्मन् शृणुष्व मे प्रोक्तानि पञ्चरातराणि सप्तरात्राणि वै मया

avarṇanaṃ nāma aṣṭatriṃśodhyāyaḥ kṛṣṇāśraye gatā iti kha, gha, ṅa, cihnitapustakatrayapāṭhaḥ pratiṣṭhādyamiti kha, ṅa, cihnitapustakadvayapāṭhaḥ athonacatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ bhūparigrahavidhānaṃ hayagrīva uvāca viṣṇvādīnāṃ pratiṣṭhādi vakṣye brahman śṛṇuṣva me proktāni pañcarātarāṇi saptarātrāṇi vai mayā

ਹੁਣ ਉਨਤਾਲੀਵਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਇ—ਭੂ-ਪਰਿਗ੍ਰਹ ਵਿਧਾਨ (ਭੂਮੀ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ)। ਹਯਗ੍ਰੀਵ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਨ, ਮੈਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂ ਆਦਿ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਾ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ; ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ। ਪੰਜ ਰਾਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤ ਰਾਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਠਾਨ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਾਠ-ਭੇਦ: 38ਵੇਂ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ‘ਅਵਰ੍ਣਨ’; ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਣਾਸ਼੍ਰਯੇ ਗਤਾ’ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਾਦ੍ਯਮ੍’ ਪਾਠ ਹੈ।)
