Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis (Naimiṣāraṇya frame implied)
Scene: Sūta narrates as the maiden, blushing with modest shame, agrees and invites the brāhmaṇa to perform expiation; the mood shifts from threat to solemn resolution.
Acknowledging fault and undertaking prāyaścitta is presented as the dharmic path to restore purity.
The verse occurs in a Tīrthamāhātmya section, but this line itself does not name a particular tīrtha.
Performance of prāyaścitta (expiation) is explicitly prescribed “for purification” (viśuddhaye).
