Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages
Tirtha: Kumāreśa (mahī-sāgara-saṅgama)
Type: sangam
Scene: At dawn on Pūrṇimā/Amāvāsyā, pilgrims bathe where the shoreline meets the sea near the Kumāreśa shrine; flags flutter, priests guide sankalpa; the moon (full or absent) and the rising sun mark the sacred calendar; offerings are placed on the sand.
Pilgrimage bathing gains heightened potency when performed at sacred junctions of time (tithi/yoga) and place (confluence by the sea).
Kumāreśvara/Kumāreśa at the mahī-sāgara-saṅgama (meeting of land and ocean).
