kopasphuritadaṃṣṭrāgraḥ karasphoṭena nādayan | surānnaghnaṃścarārājau duṣprekṣyaḥ so'tha dānavaḥ
Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages (deduced)
Scene: A monstrous dānava with quivering fangs, eyes blazing, roars while clapping his hands; he prowls the field striking down devas, his form almost unbearable to look upon.
Fearsome displays may shake the righteous, yet the Purāṇic frame implies that terror is not ultimate; dharma is upheld by higher divine power.
