Gaṇas
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvija/brāhmaṇa inquirer
Scene: A sunrise over the Gaṅgā at Kāśī: the solar disc contains a subtle Puruṣa form; the listener realizes ‘He is I’, while a contrasting shadowy path symbolizes ‘andhatamas’ for misdirected worship.
Realize the one Self (the divine principle) as the true object of worship; misdirected worship leads to spiritual ignorance.
Kāśī is the textual setting; the verse itself focuses on inner realization rather than naming a specific tīrtha.
It implies correct upāsanā—single-pointed worship/realization of the one divine Self—without detailing a ritual.
