Skanda
Tirtha: Gaṅgā–Asi saṅgama
Type: sangam
Listener: Muni within the Kāśī-tīrtha exposition
Scene: Pilgrims bathe at the confluence; above the waters appear faint visions of many famous tīrthas (Kedāra, Prayāga, Puṣkara, etc.) dissolving into the single saṅgama as one unified radiance.
Kāśī’s confluence-tīrtha is presented as a spiritual ‘summary’ of all pilgrimages, focusing devotion into one supremely potent place.
Gaṅgā–Asi saṅgama (the confluence of the Gaṅgā and Asi) within Kāśī.
Snāna (bathing) and allied tīrtha-rites (snānādi) performed at the confluence.
