śrutismṛtivihīnā ye śaucācāravivarjitāḥ | yeṣāṃ kvāpi gatirnāsti teṣāṃ vārāṇasī gatiḥ

ଯେମାନେ ଶ୍ରୁତି-ସ୍ମୃତିର ମାର୍ଗଦର୍ଶନହୀନ, ଯେମାନେ ଶୌଚ ଓ ସଦାଚାରବିହୀନ, ଯାହାଙ୍କର କେଉଁଠି ଗତି ନାହିଁ—ତାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ବାରାଣସୀ ହିଁ ପରମ ଗତି।
