रुद्र उवाच । शृणु स्कन्द महाप्राज्ञ ह्यद्भुतं यत्कृतं मया । धर्मारण्ये महादुष्टो दैत्यः कर्णाटकाभिधः

ରୁଦ୍ର କହିଲେ—ହେ ମହାପ୍ରାଜ୍ଞ ସ୍କନ୍ଦ, ମୋ ଦ୍ୱାରା କୃତ ଅଦ୍ଭୁତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଶୁଣ। ଧର୍ମାରଣ୍ୟରେ ‘କର୍ଣାଟକ’ ନାମକ ଏକ ମହାଦୁଷ୍ଟ ଦୈତ୍ୟ ଥିଲା।
