kālaṃ yugasahasrasya rudrasya paricārikā | asya prasādādamarastathā tvaṃ dvijapuṃgava
Narmadā-devī
Tirtha: Narmadā (Revā)
Type: river
Listener: Dvijapuṅgava (a brāhmaṇa interlocutor)
Scene: Narmadā-devī, hands folded, stands beside a liṅga as Rudra’s unseen presence blesses; a brāhmaṇa receives the boon of amaratva, light descending like a stream.
Śiva’s grace (prasāda) elevates the devotee beyond mortality; devotion is portrayed as transformative and liberating.
The Revā/Narmadā sacred domain where such grace is proclaimed in the river’s own voice.
Implicitly, steadfast Śiva-bhakti and worship (especially Liṅga-arcana in this chapter) as the cause of the blessing.
