kṛtyovāca | krodhāviṣṭena deveśa pippalādena cintitā | asya dehaṃ haniṣyāmi hiṃsārthaṃ viddhi māṃ prabho
Kṛtyā (the spirit/created fiend) addressing Śiva
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā)
Type: river
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira
Scene: The Kṛtyā speaks—personified as a fierce, shadowy feminine force born of anger, declaring intent to destroy; the divine listener remains composed, radiating control over the terrifying energy.
Uncontrolled anger becomes a creator of destruction; adharmic intent rebounds under divine scrutiny.
The narrative belongs to the Revā Khaṇḍa’s Narmadā sacred geography, but this verse centers on the ethics of violence rather than a site.
None explicitly; the verse implicitly condemns harmful rites born of wrath.
