पुरा कृतयुगस्यादौ तोषितुं गिरिजापतिम् । तपश्चचार विपुलं विष्णुर्वर्षसहस्रकम् । वायुभक्षो निराहारः शुक्लतीर्थे व्यवस्थितः

ପୁରା କୃତଯୁଗର ଆରମ୍ଭରେ ଗିରିଜାପତି (ଶିବ)ଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରସନ୍ନ କରିବାକୁ ବିଷ୍ଣୁ ଏକ ସହସ୍ର ବର୍ଷ ମହାତପ କଲେ। ସେ ବାୟୁଭକ୍ଷ, ନିରାହାର ହୋଇ ଶୁକ୍ଲତୀର୍ଥରେ ସ୍ଥିର ରହିଲେ।
