मार्कण्डेय उवाच । स्नानदानपरो यस्तु नित्यं धर्ममनुव्रतः । नर्मदातीरमाश्रित्य मुच्यते सर्वपातकैः

ମାର୍କଣ୍ଡେୟ କହିଲେ: ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ନର୍ମଦା ତଟକୁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ କରି ନିତ୍ୟ ସ୍ନାନ ଓ ଦାନରେ ତତ୍ପର ରୁହନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଧର୍ମ ପାଳନ କରନ୍ତି, ସେ ସମସ୍ତ ପାପରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।
