दुन्दुभिनिर्ह्रादनिर्णयः / Dundubhinirhrāda’s Stratagem: Targeting the Brāhmaṇas
अनेनैव स्वरूपेण व्याघ्रेश इति नामतः । कुरु रक्षां महादेव ज्येष्ठस्थानस्य सर्वदा
anenaiva svarūpeṇa vyāghreśa iti nāmataḥ | kuru rakṣāṃ mahādeva jyeṣṭhasthānasya sarvadā
ହେ ମହାଦେବ! ଏହି ଏକେ ସ୍ୱରୂପରେ “ବ୍ୟାଘ୍ରେଶ” ନାମରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇ, ଏହି ପବିତ୍ର ଜ୍ୟେଷ୍ଠସ୍ଥାନକୁ ସଦା ରକ୍ଷା କର।

The verse is a direct śaraṇāgati (surrender) prayer asking Śiva, in a specific saguna form (Vyāghreśa), to continuously guard a foremost sacred seat (Jyeṣṭha-sthāna), affirming Śiva as Pati—the supreme protector and refuge.
By invoking Śiva “in this very form” and “by name,” the verse emphasizes saguna-upāsanā—devotion to Śiva with attributes and a recognized manifestation—commonly centered on a kṣetra and its liṅga, where protection and grace are sought through worship.
A practical takeaway is to perform rakṣā-prārthanā: recite Śiva’s name (here, “Vyāghreśa”), offer worship at the sacred place/liṅga, and conclude with a protective sankalpa for continual divine guardianship—ideally alongside japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) if one follows Shaiva practice.
