kuṃbhāṃḍa uvāca | naitatkartuṃ samucitaṃ karma deva vicāryatām | asminhate hato hyātmā bhavediti matirmama

କୁମ୍ଭାଣ୍ଡ କହିଲା—ହେ ଦେବ, ଏହି କର୍ମ କରିବା ସମୁଚିତ ନୁହେଁ; ଦୟାକରି ବିଚାର କରନ୍ତୁ। ମୋର ମତ ଏହି ଯେ, ଏହା ହତ ହେଲେ ମନେ ଆତ୍ମା ହିଁ ହତ ହେବ।
