The Manifestation/Transmission of the Mṛtyuñjaya Vidyā
mahādeva uvāca | vipravarya kave tāta mama bhakto'si pāvanaḥ | anenātyugratapasā svajanyācaritena ca
Lord Shiva (Mahādeva)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Shiva affirms that bhakti is proven and matured through disciplined tapas and purity of conduct; such integrity makes the devotee “pāvana” (sanctifying) and fit to receive divine grace.
It highlights Saguna Shiva’s personal relationship with the devotee: the Lord responds to sincere devotion supported by austerity and dharmic living—core attitudes behind Linga-upāsanā and daily Shiva worship.
The verse points to tapas joined with bhakti—regular japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), steady vrata/discipline, and purity of conduct as the practical takeaway.
