FAQs

It highlights Shiva as the protector of dharma who acts to remove obstructive ego and adharma (symbolized by Jalandhara), while also showing the harmonious unity of Shiva–Shakti: the divine action unfolds in alignment with Gauri’s will.

The verse presents Saguna Shiva as the active Lord of Kailasa who intervenes in history to uphold cosmic order. In Linga-worship, devotees approach the same Shiva as the accessible, compassionate Pati (Lord) who destroys inner Jalandhara-like pride and grants grace.

A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with bhakti and surrender to Shiva–Shakti, contemplating Shiva as the remover of inner enemies (kāma, krodha, ahaṅkāra) just as he moves to destroy Jalandhara.
