Suta Goswami (narrating the puranic teaching within the Kumārakhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: States the phala-śruti: siddhi and vighna-nāśa. In Śaiva Siddhānta terms, obstacles (vighna) are expressions of pāśa (māyā/karma) that are attenuated when Śiva’s anugraha is invoked through proper worship.
Role: liberating
It affirms a Shaiva principle: when one takes refuge in Shiva with steady devotion, grace (anugraha) ripens into siddhi, and the binding obstacles (vighnas) that arise from karma and inner impurities are dissolved.
In Linga/Saguna Shiva worship, the devotee approaches Shiva through a concrete, sanctifying form; this verse promises that such committed upasana culminates in successful attainment and the removal of impediments that hinder worship and spiritual progress.
Perform regular Shiva-upasana—especially japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with purity, and disciplined vrata on auspicious days like Mahashivratri—so obstacles are pacified and spiritual focus becomes firm.
