The Descent of the Gaṅgā and Bhagiratha’s Fulfilment
सप्तमी चान्वगात्तासां भगीरथमथो नृपम्।भगीरथोऽपि राजर्षिर्दिव्यं स्यन्दनमास्थित:।।।।प्रायादग्रे महातेजा गङ्गा तं चाप्यनुव्रजत्।
saptamī cānvagāt tāsāṃ bhagīratham atho nṛpam | bhagīratho 'pi rājarṣir divyaṃ syandanam āsthitaḥ || prāyād agre mahātejā gaṅgā taṃ cāpy anuvrajat |
ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ସପ୍ତମୀ ଧାରା ନୃପ ଭଗୀରଥଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁସରଣ କଲା। ଦିବ୍ୟ ତେଜରେ ଦୀପ୍ତ ରାଜର୍ଷି ଭଗୀରଥ ଦିବ୍ୟ ରଥ ଆରୋହଣ କରି ଆଗେ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲେ; ଗଙ୍ଗା ମଧ୍ୟ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁବର୍ତ୍ତିଲା।
From the sky on to the head of Shankara and thence Ganga resorted to the earth. There it flowed forward with a roaring sound.
