The Greatness of Kārtika
कार्तिके वर्जयेन्मांसं कार्तिके वर्जयेत्स्त्रियः । निष्पावान्कार्तिके देवि त्यंजेद्विष्णुतत्परः ॥ ५४ ॥
kārtike varjayenmāṃsaṃ kārtike varjayetstriyaḥ | niṣpāvānkārtike devi tyaṃjedviṣṇutatparaḥ || 54 ||
କାର୍ତ୍ତିକରେ ମାଂସ ବର୍ଜନ କରିବା ଉଚିତ; କାର୍ତ୍ତିକରେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀସଙ୍ଗ (କାମଭୋଗ) ମଧ୍ୟ ବର୍ଜନ କରିବା ଉଚିତ। ହେ ଦେବି! କାର୍ତ୍ତିକରେ ବିଷ୍ଣୁତତ୍ପର ଭକ୍ତ ନିଷ୍ପାବ (ଏକ ପ୍ରକାର ଡାଲି)କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରୁ॥୫୪॥
