Sanatkumāra (in dialogue instruction to Nārada on Viṣṇu’s epithets/nāma-artha)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It frames Viṣṇu’s names as contemplative keys: each epithet points to a divine function—reclining Lord, all-pervading presence, and the principle that remains—so remembering the name becomes a direct practice of dhyāna and mokṣa-dharma.
Bhakti here is nāma-smaraṇa with understanding: the devotee repeats Hari’s names while reflecting on their meanings (vibhu, cintya, etc.), turning chanting into steady remembrance and inner worship.
It uses nirukta-like name-derivation (etymological meaning of divine epithets) as a practical tool—linking sound (nāma) to meaning (artha) to support correct contemplation and recitation.
