The Moon is linked with nourishment and vitality; calling Soma ‘support of lifespan’ frames cosmic order as sustaining embodied life. It also elevates the mind (manas) as a generative principle capable of producing world-supporting powers.
Vaṃśa/vaṃśānucarita: genealogical account of Atri’s divine offspring, with cosmological function statements (Sarga-adjacent).
Soma as ‘mind-born’ encodes the correspondence between the lunar principle and manas in Indic thought: the waxing/waning mind, emotional tides, and vitality rhythms.
