मनुष्यसम्भवा वाचो विधर्मिण्य: प्रतिश्रुता:

vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca |

manuṣya-sambhavā vāco vidharmiṇyaḥ pratiśrutāḥ |

dharmaputro mahābāhur vilalāpa suvistaram ||

“ମନୁଷ୍ୟ-ଦୁର୍ବଳତାରୁ ଜନ୍ମ ନେଇଥିବା କଥା—ଧର୍ମରୁ ଭ୍ରଷ୍ଟ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା—କିପରି ଫଳିବ?” ଏହି ବିପତ୍ତି ଦେଖି ମହାବାହୁ ଧର୍ମପୁତ୍ର ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର ଶୋକରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ଦୀର୍ଘ ସମୟ ବିଲାପ କଲେ।
